Objects may be closer than they appear. Or, objects may be observed more clearly and appear even more intriguing.
Over the years, I have been creating digital imagery by misusing scanners and other digital contraptions. A scanner, for example, has fantastic properties that include an incredibly shallow depth-of-field, a extremely high resolution and a full-resolution digital image output that can be further manipulated. Scanners can, as well, function while frozen or heated. They’re a bit like a microscope, yet they provides a very different view than a microscope might.
Best of all, the results yielded by scanning all manner of natural things are, I believe, stunning.
Most of my low-resolution (unadulterated) images are available through a Flickr Gallery
